Carolyn and Jay were absolutely meant for each other! The two met while backpacking, sea kayaking, rafting, mountaineering and canoeing in Alaska with NOLS: National Outdoor Leadership School. Five years later (to the date) they tied the knot in the Majestic mountains of Vermont.

The two chose The Skinner Barn for their big day - a beautifully restored historic dairy barn originally built in 1891 by the Daniel Skinner family. Flanked by the majestic Northfield Ridge to its east and the mountains that host the Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski areas to its west, The Skinner Barn offers a quintessential Vermont setting.

Beautiful bridesmaids! These bright and sunny frocks - very Carolyn! - were from Simple Silhouettes in Gardenia and Dahlia. The even more beautiful stone necklaces were designed by the bride herself and given the her maids as gifts.
The wedding ceremony took place in a beautiful meadow adjacent to The Skinner Barn before moving inside to the hayloft for the reception.

Guests enjoyed delicious passed appetizers as well as fruit and cheese before moving inside for dinner and dancing.

The tables were marketed by mountains the two have climbed together - a very personal touch that allowed the guests to get to know the couple just a little bit more!
